Welcome to the Isle of Hesperos, a hidden land off the Western coast of FaerΓ»n. Situated deep within the Trackless Sea, this island is a place where history breathes through sun-bleached ruins and colossal statues. From the sprawling urban centers to the quiet sacred pineries of the interior, Hesperos offers a sandbox of infinite peril and mystery. As you travel the 28 km hexes between the safety of the inns and the silent shadows of the necropolises, remember that here, discovery is found in every corner of the map.
Regardless of the biome it passes through, the Great Road is maintained. Its enchanted stones repel the mists and provide a flat, stable surface.
Standard Travel: 1 Day per hex (28km/day). This is the "Heartbeat of the Ring."
Trade Rigs / Caravans: 0.5 Days per hex (56km/day). These massive, steam-powered or magical machines run day and night, halving travel time.
When you step off the Great Road and into the "Deep Wilds," the terrain asserts its natural lethality.
Standard: 1.5 Days per hex. The jagged shale and sinking salt-flats chew through boots and wheels alike.
Specialized: 1 Day per hex. Great-Ram Caravans (massive, sure-footed beasts) navigate the vertical cliffs and loose shale with ease.
Standard: 3 Days per hex. The most treacherous terrain; shifting ice-cracks and sub-zero winds make every kilometer a battle for survival.
Specialized: 1 Day per hex. Frost-Skiffs (magical sleds) use the "Ice-Tithe" to glide over the surface, ignoring the cracks entirely.
Standard: 2 Days per hex. The "Perma-Frost" creates uneven, bone-breaking ground that is often hidden under a light dusting of snow.
Specialized: 1 Day per hex. Sled-Dog Legions are bred with massive paws to distribute weight, maintaining a steady gallop over the frozen earth.
Standard: 2 Days per hex. Dense, acidic pine forests and steep mountain inclines require travelers to hack their way through.
Specialized: 0.3 Days per hex. Canopy Gryphons ignore the ground entirely. They are the fastest travel in the Ring, though they are currently grounded by the Mages' "Dead Air" in the Lorn.
Standard: 2 Days per hex. The ground is a deceptive slurry of deep mud and rising tides that can swallow a horse whole.
Specialized: 1 Day per hex. Wave-Slippers (enchanted skiffs) utilize the shallow water channels to "slide" through the marsh.
Standard: 1 Day per hex. Even off-road, the Eternal Spring makes for easy walking across rolling grasslands.
Specialized: 0.5 Days per hex. The Mages maintain "Wind-Paths" that gently push travelers toward their destination.
β΅ Standard Sailing: All states cover water at 1 Day per hex using basic merchant vessels.
π¦ Midgia's Gryphon Advantage: Because they hold the center, Midgia can fly reinforcements from their Taiga home to the Central Isle in just 1.5 to 2 days, bypassing the slow naval blockades entirely.
